On the 14th of March (3.14) we celebrated "Pi Day". This consisted of various activities in which the pupils discovered that the number pi can be found in many day to day objects.
In a mathematical principle, they threw a ball at a target and related the probability of correct throws against the total number of throws and proved that this relationship is the number pi.
Also, in the playground, they measured the outline of the circle in the centre of the football pitch against its diameter with their own feet. This relationship is also the number pi. And lastly they measured the plant pots in the courtyard and compared them to their diameter, calculating the number pi.
